Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Replacement in Orlando, FL

Serving Homes in Winter Park, Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, and Nearby Areas

Why Ductless Mini-Splits Fit Orlando Homes

A ductless mini-split can turn the hottest room in your house into the one everyone wants to sit in. That matters in Orlando, where Florida rooms, garage conversions, and older bungalows often sit beyond the reach of the ducts.

A mini-split reaches those rooms directly. At Jormechanical Air, a single-zone install anywhere in Central Florida starts and finishes the same day, and each indoor unit, called a head, needs just one small opening in the wall. You're never living around a job site.

  • 1 day

How long a single-zone install takes, from the first hole to the first cool air.

  • 0 feet of ductwork

A mini-split skips the ducts entirely, which is why it fits additions and old bungalows.

  • 40°F

A cold Central Florida night, and a mini-split heat pump keeps heating right through it.

  • 60%

The indoor humidity stays under control in Florida, and a mini-split's steady running helps you get there.

Where a Ductless Mini-Split Works Best in Orlando Homes

Every house has one room the central air can't quite win. Here's where a mini-split takes over.

  • Your Florida room, usable in August.

Walls of glass soak up afternoon sun that your central system was never sized for. A wall-mounted head keeps that room cool on its own, so it's more than a winter hangout.

  • A garage conversion that feels like the rest of the house.

Its own mini-split means the ducts sized for the original house don't have to stretch. Your new gym, office or guest suite gets cooling sized just for it.

  • A bonus room that finally keeps up.

Rooms over a garage or at the end of the duct run tend to lag behind the thermostat. One head there brings that room in line without changing a thing about your central system.

  • Older homes that keep their character.

Many of College Park's 1920s bungalows were built long before central air. Mini-splits need only small wall openings, so you get modern cooling and heating without cutting into plaster or ceilings.

  • A quieter replacement for an old mini-split.

Swapping a tired unit for a current model usually means quieter running and lower power bills. If yours still runs on R-22, which is no longer made, replacing it also ends pricey recharges.

  • A different temperature in every room.

Each indoor head runs on its own remote, so the home office can sit at 72 while the guest room rests at 80. Nobody fights over one thermostat anymore.

Not sure your space is on this list? We'll look at it with you and give you a straight answer, even if that answer is a simple repair or a change to your central system. You'll know your options before you spend anything.

How Ductless Mini-Split Pricing Works in Orlando

Every mini-split quote starts with one number: how many rooms you want to be comfortable. Each room gets its own indoor head, so a single sunroom costs far less than a whole upstairs.

From there, the size of each head, the size sun a room takes on and the distance to the outdoor unit set the final price. We measure all of it at your home, so the number you see is built on your house.

Single-Zone vs. Multi-Zone Mini-Splits

We Suggest the Fewest Heads That Work

A single-zone system runs one indoor head from its own outdoor unit, and a multi-zone system runs several heads from one. More heads means a bigger bill, so we never add one just to fill a wall. If one room is the problem, one head is usually the fix.

Mini-Splits Charged Right, Mounted Clean and Covered

The Details That Decide a Good Install

  • Charged for Your Line Length, Not Guessed

A mini-split system charges for a set line length, and every extra foot past that needs more refrigerant. Some installs skip that math. Our EPA 608-certified technicians charge yours to the actual run and check it before we leave.

  • Your Wall, Left Neater Than We Found It

Drop cloths go down before the drill comes out. The line opening for each head gets sealed tight against Florida humidity and bugs. Then we clean up, and the room is ready to use that evening.

  • One Year on the Install Labor

If anything we installed acts up in the first year, one call to our office brings us back, and the labor is covered. Mini-splits carry their own manufacturer parts coverage too, and we'll show you what it covers during the walkthrough.

Four Steps to a Room That Stays Cool

Here's what happens, in the order you'll see it.

  1. 1. Book a visit

Call or book online, and we'll set a time to see your home, Monday through Saturday. Bring your wish list, even the rooms you're unsure about.

  2. 2. We plan where everything goes

At your home, we look at each room, the wall where the head will hang and the spot outside for the outdoor unit. That's how we size each head and plan the shortest line path.

  3. 3. You approve the plan and price

Your estimate shows every head, where it mounts, and what the whole job costs, sent by email or text. You approve it before a single bracket goes up.

  4. 4. Install day, then a test run

A single-zone system goes in within one day. Multi-zone jobs take longer, and you'll know how many days up front. We finish by running every head through a full cycle and setting the remotes up with you.

Reviews From Homeowners Who Let Us In

A mini-split install means drilling through a wall and running a line set, so how a company works inside your home matters. Here's what homeowners have posted about us on Google.

Worked very clean and cleaned up after.

Owen ZweckGoogle review, April 2026

Judale Wynkoop owner of JorMechanical just finished installing my new A/C and Airhandler and a new Ecobee Premium Stat. Courteous, efficient, and very knowledgeable regarding heating and cooling systems. And, importantly, trust worthy. All old equipment was promptly removed when the install was completed. A pleasure to have JorMechanical as a reliable contractor.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation FAQs

Monday to Friday: 7:30 am–5:30 pmSaturday: 7:30 am–2 pmSunday: Closed

What size mini-split does my room need?

Size comes from the room's square footage, sun, and insulation. A sunny Florida room needs more capacity than a shaded bedroom, so we size each head on site.

Where is the best spot for the head?

High on a wall, where air can reach the whole room without blowing on your bed or desk. It also needs a short path outside for the lines.

Where does the outdoor unit usually sit?

On a level pad or a wall bracket, close to the head and with clear space around it so it can breathe. Shorter lines usually mean better efficiency.

How long do ductless mini-splits last in Florida?

Most last 10 to 15 years with regular care. Salt air near the coast and dirty filters shorten that, so rinse the filters every month in summer.

Do I need a permit for a mini-split?

Yes. Florida treats a mini-split install as mechanical work, so it needs a permit and an inspection. The permit is part of our job, not a separate chore for you.
