What Actually Happens in Your House on Install Day
A stage by stage account of an AC changeout, from refrigerant recovery to the vacuum decay test and the county inspection, and what to watch for.

The thermostat reads 75. The air conditioning has run since noon, and the house still feels damp. Your air conditioner isn't broken. It was built to lower the temperature, not to dry the air, catch fine dust, or keep mold off its coil. That gap is why closets smell musty after storms and dust is back two days after you wipe it.
Each of those problems has its own fix. A whole-home dehumidifier dries the air, a higher-MERV filter catches the dust, an air purifier clears what the filter misses, and a UV light keeps the coil clean. All four connect to the air handler you already have.

Match what you've noticed to the upgrade below. All four go on the indoor unit you already have, and none of them takes up floor space.
Whole-Home Dehumidifiers.
Sticky rooms with the cooling on point point to a humidity problem, and the fix is a dehumidifier tied into your air handler. It pulls water from every room, holds the level you set on mild days, and drains into the air conditioner's own line.
Air Filter Upgrades.
Dust back a day after cleaning means the one-inch filter is catching the big stuff and little else. Swap the slot for a four-inch media cabinet, sized to your return and blower, and it grabs finer dust and pollen while lasting months longer.
Air Purification.
Smoke, pet dander, and cooking smells don't leave a house on their own; they just move from room to room. Mount a purifier inside the system, and every bit of air the blower moves gets treated whenever the fan runs, with nothing sitting on a table.
UV Lights.
A UV light aimed at the indoor coil is the fix for the musty smell at startup, because that coil never dries out in summer and mold starts there. With the light on around the clock, mold and bacteria can't take hold, and the smell goes with them.
Not sure which of the four you need? Book a look, and we'll check the indoor unit, the filter slot, and where a dehumidifier fits, then name the one that fixes what you've noticed. If the honest answer is a filter change and nothing else, that's what you'll hear.

Here's the question that sets the price. How much of the house has the problem? A single musty closet points to a UV light, a quick job on a coil that's already there. A whole house that feels damp points to a dehumidifier, with its own drain, power, and spot beside the air handler. Same visit, different numbers.
So we won't guess over the phone, and we won't pad the number either. You get one price for the equipment and the install after we've seen your system, and nothing happens until you say yes. Want to spread it out? Wisetack can turn it into monthly payments, subject to credit approval.
Yes, we install built-in equipment, and no, you don't always need it. A single damp guest room? Buy a plug-in dehumidifier, run it, and skip the call. When three rooms feel damp, or you're emptying two buckets a day, the math flips, and that's when we'd rather come out.
| Plug-in unit | Whole-home system | |
|---|---|---|
| Covers | A single room, with the door shut | Every room the indoor unit serves |
| Emptying it | A bucket, every day or two in summer | Drains itself through the air conditioner's line |
| Noise and space | A fan and compressor in the room with you | Out of sight in the closet, garage, or attic |
| Filters and purifiers | Clean one room's air at a time | Treat all the air the system moves |
| Cost | Low to buy, and you buy one per room | More up front, sized once for the whole house |
| Best for | A guest room or a garage workshop | A house that feels damp or dusty everywhere |

Florida issues two grades of air conditioning license, and ours is the certified one, valid statewide. It covers the air handler work a dehumidifier, filter cabinet, or UV light needs. Search the number on the Florida DBPR license lookup, and it comes back active.
A whole-house dehumidifier carries its own compressor and sealed refrigerant charge, and federal law lets only EPA 608 certified technicians open that circuit. We carry the card, so the unit that dries your house is installed and serviced by someone allowed to work on it.
The Better Business Bureau has held us at A+ since accrediting us in April 2025, with the whole record public. Two outside groups vouch for the work before anyone opens your indoor unit.
Install a dehumidifier, swap a UV bulb, or size a new filter cabinet, the visit runs the same way.
Call or use the booking form and tell us what's bugging you; a closet that smells, damp air after rain, or a UV bulb past its year. Add the system's age, and we'll pick a day.
At your home, we open the air handler and check the filter slot, the coil, the drain line, and the space around the unit. That tells us which equipment fits, or what an existing unit needs.
Your quote lists each piece that fits your system with its own price, so you can start with one and add another later. Say which ones, and the work gets booked.
We fit it and run a full cycle. Then we set the dehumidifier to your humidity, write the filter size on the cabinet and the bulb's change date on the UV unit, and take the packaging with us.
Give us a call, or book online with a note on what the house has been doing and how old the air conditioner is, and you'll get a slot that suits your schedule. First looks usually land within the week, and those details mean we arrive knowing which piece to check first.
Which rooms feel damp, when the smell shows up, and how fast dust returns after cleaning all point to different fixes. Jot them down, and mention how often you change the filter.
Weekdays full? We book Saturdays from 7:30 in the morning until 2, which covers a first look, a quote, or a UV bulb swap. Monday to Friday, the phones open at 7:30 as well.
We leave Magnolia Avenue in Orlando and head for all four counties, from the lakes to the coast. Lakefront and beachside homes live with the dampest air, so that's where a dehumidifier matters most, while filter and UV work goes everywhere.
Every town below is on our regular route, county by county. Don't see yours? If it sits inside these four counties, we're most likely already driving past it, so call, and we'll add you to the day.

Air quality work happens in your ducts and air handler, out of sight. That makes trust in the company doing it even more important. These Google reviews show how homeowners felt about having us there.
They came fast, fixed my AC, and didn't talk over my head.
Worked very clean and cleaned up after.
Judale Wynkoop owner of JorMechanical just finished installing my new A/C and Airhandler and a new Ecobee Premium Stat. Courteous, efficient, and very knowledgeable regarding heating and cooling systems. And, importantly, trust worthy. All old equipment was promptly removed when the install was completed. A pleasure to have JorMechanical as a reliable contractor.
Did a thorough diagnosis of our ac which was not cooling enough and clearly explained what the issue was. Would highly recommend!

Yes, for the coil they shine on. Steady UV light stops mold and bacteria from growing where it lands, so the coil and drain pan stay clean, and the startup smell fades. They don't clean the air passing by at fan speed, which is a filter's job.
For a house that feels damp even with the cooling running, usually yes. It takes over on days the cooling can't, like rainy stretches and mild spring weeks, and holds the level you set. Drier air also feels cooler, so the thermostat can sit a degree or two higher.
About a year. The bulb keeps glowing past that, but the output that stops mold fades, so it needs changing on a schedule rather than when it looks dim. We write the install date on the unit, so you know the month it's due.
They catch spores floating in the air, which is part of the problem, and they do nothing about the damp that lets mold grow. So pair a purifier with humidity control, or start with the humidity. Remove the wet, and most mold has nowhere to start.
Into the drain line your air conditioner already uses, in most homes. The unit sits beside the air handler, and a short pipe joins the two. If that spot is an attic, a safety pan and float switch go under it, the same protection the air conditioner has.
Barely. A coil UV lamp draws about as much power as a small light bulb left on, so running it around the clock adds a few dollars a month at most. The yearly bulb costs more than a year of running it, and both are small next to a coil cleaning.
